Just because my Belle cosplay has yet to be touched in a month (“I’ll get to it this weekend!” I say every week), doesn’t mean cosplay can’t happen.
My mum has been wanting some nice pictures to document this costume (Eoywn from Lord of the Rings) she made for me for a while.
How long you ask? Well, she made it for me when I was 10.
And it still fits now, except for the skirt being too short. How you ask? Magic. And being an early bloomer + my mum made it slightly big.
Right before I got my haircut last week (literally about two hours before), my mum asked if we could get some photos of the Eoywn costume with my hair still long. And I was game because who doesn’t like dressing up like a warrior maiden?
We ended up with some pretty cool photos, although if I had known we were going to take photos I would have braided my hair that day so it could be authentically wavy.
Editing these was fun but also frustrating because I blink in so many photos. Why Katie.
My mum is such a talented costumer. I always had the best Halloween/ school project/ dress up costumes. I guess I really do need to get on that learning to sew thing because if I want to be half as cool as my mum I’ll need to be able to provide screen accurate Halloween costumes for my potential future children (fun story, I took a Red Cross Babysitter’s course in middle school and we each got a baby doll to practice baby CPR on and I named mine Eowyn. It’s probably a good thing people don’t get to choose their childrens’ names in middle school).
Stay magical readers!
