Recap May 2016

I can’t believe it’s already June (ahhhhhhh), so it’s time for a look back at May. It was quite the month!

I got a new phone, after having had my old one since my senior year of high school (5 years what).

I crashed chaperoned a middle school prom. Danced more than the kids and then was told to take over the DJ station (sorry Mr. DJ).

Ate some cupcakes. Sugarland continues to be basically the best place on Earth.

Costumed High School Musical Jr. It was a blast and I got to check something off my life list.

Took a lot of selfies. I am very pro-selfie after not being sure how I felt about it for a long time. There’s probably a blog post in there somewhere.

Taught my students how to play quidditch. They loved it! Some of them really had a knack for it and one of them said he was going to go to a college with a quidditch team.

Made pillows for a women’s shelter and found out about an amazing program that goes in and redecorates women’s shelters. I’m going to contact them about volunteering with them this summer because it involves two things I love: helping people and interior design.

Had lots of fun with Snapchat’s filters and unleashed my inner cat.

Went to Richmond and got to see some of my besties and go to my favorite diner – The Galaxy Diner. It’s decorated with a retro sci-fi theme and the menu items are all bad space puns.

Accidentally became a wedding photographer.

Additionally, I also read a lot of books, worked out, saw Captain America: Civil War, proctored some state exams for my school, saved two turtles from the road, and did lots of other things.

I always forget how much I really do each month until I stop and make my monthly recaps. In the moment everything goes so slowly, but looking back it’s all speeding by so fast. My students’ only have 3 1/2 days left of school. I’m going to miss them all so much this summer *copious crying*.

What did you do this month?

Stay magical readers!
