It’s been far too long since I’ve done a foodie review, so we’ll ease back into things with my family’s new favorite local place – Capp’s Pizzeria.
For a while we had only been able to get Capp’s Pizza when they brought their mobile pizza oven to the farmer’s market. This was a huge shame because their pizza was amazing. Luckily, everyone else seemed to think so too, because Capp’s was popular enough that they were able to open a permanent location last fall.
The pizzas are Neapolitan style with fresh farm to table ingredients. These thin crust, personal pizzas are the closest I’ve had to the pizzas we would get when we were living in Italy. My dad has even said that this is some of the best pizza he has ever had in the US and I agree. The pizzas are made to order and can be customized, but I always just opt for a classic margherita.
We keep meaning to explore some of the pastas and other things on their menu, but the pizza is so good that we haven’t managed yet. Last time we were able to save just enough room to split a dessert – a lemon mascarpone cake. It was light and fluffy and the perfect amount of lemon.
Mouth watering yet? If you live in the Triangle/ Chapel Hill area, then you’re in luck because you can easily dine in or order out Capp’s pizza and try it yourself! More information is available on their website.
