This past weekend I flew to Chicago to hang out with my friend Meredyth! The only thing better than hanging with your bestie? Hanging with your bestie and having pie for breakfast.
I was completely on board when Meredyth suggested pie for breakfast at Hoosier Mama Pie Co. She said they have breakfast pies like quiche, as well as sweet pies. And then I laughed and said who would eat quiche when there is real pie.
Hoosier Mama Pie Co. offers full pies that you can take home, or you can get slices to eat there. It was a 20 minute walk in the cold rain to get there, so we opted to eat in.
So many choices left me torn over what to order, but Meredyth opted for the chocolate creme with banana. And that sounded really good so I did too. It was ohmygawd amazing! Thick chocolate pudding topped with fluffy whipped cream. And bananas to make you feel like you’re being sort of healthy because fruit. I ate it too fast, and then was sad that it was gone.
I considered getting a second slice, but then I remembered we were having tea in a few hours with lots of pastries and cakes. So sadly, I did not have the second slice of pie, but it will haunt my dreams.
Anyone here ever tried Hoosier Mama Pie Company? Anyone else think that pie for breakfast should be a new thing?
